QUO EVENT 2019 – REVIEW
TEAMWORK AND ENDURANCE AS SUCCESS FACTORS
This year’s QUO event took place in the middle of the heat week on Wednesday, 26 June, in our premises on the Alpenstrasse. In beautiful summer weather and with delicious barbecue specialities, our customers and ourselves had the opportunity for networking and exchanging ideas.
TEAMWORK IS WORK
In line with QUO’s motto for the year “Success through change”, two members of Team Swiss Mocean were present as speakers. Marlin Strub and Luca Baltensperger took part in the Tallisker Whiskey Atlantic Challenge in 2017 and rowed almost 5000 km from La Gomera to Antigua across the Atlantic within 30 days.
The quintessence of the entertaining and exciting presentation was: “Teamwork is work” – In order for a team to function on the long run and under challenging circumstances and thus contribute to the success of the company or enterprise, each individual is required to work hard.
This realization can most certainly be transferred not only to sports challenges, but is universally applicable. If everyone pulls in the same direction and puts personal needs aside, a team can achieve incredible results.
QUO is proud of its interdisciplinary team and the creative work it carries out in various projects. In order to keep the team efficient, we deliberately rely on team times, such as coffee breaks, table football tournaments or the joint sports session over lunch.
ENDURANCE PAYS OFF
Besides the Team Swiss Mocean we had the pleasure to welcome Beat Lechmann from DePuy Synthes at this year’s QUO event. He reported on the development of the new surgical thread DYNACORDTM, which is used for the treatment of tendon injuries in sports medicine and has the ability to contract during the healing process and thus keep the tendon permanently under tension. This feature allows the healing time of tendon injuries to be significantly reduced compared to the past. The conclusion of Mr. Lechmann’s inspiring presentation is: Endurance pays off! The development of the innovative product DYNACORDTM took 16 years from the first idea to the finished product and had to overcome several hurdles during this time. Today, this innovative product is available for sports medicine and arthroscopy as well as trauma surgery and orthopaedics! QUO was able to contribute its expertise in particular during the pre-development phase of the product. We are proud to have contributed to the development of this revolutionary product!
WITH TEAMWORK AND ENDURANCE SUCCESSFUL TOGETHER IN THE FUTURE
We thank all our customers for their loyalty and look forward to continuing to realize exciting projects and develop outstanding products together.
