WHY WANDER INTO THE DISTANCE WHEN THE GOOD IS SO CLOSE?
DEVELOPMENT OF A NEW PACKAGING CONCEPT
IDUN Technologies AG is a young start-up company that produces soft, dry electrodes that are comfortable to wear even after prolonged use and can be used, for example, to measure vital values during sport. The electrodes developed by the company are tailor-made for the respective application and are therefore in demand worldwide for research projects.
IDUN is working with QUO to develop a new packaging solution for shipping the electrodes. Despite the physical proximity of the two companies, which both have their headquarters in the newly founded Netzwerk-Haus in Opfikon, the path to cooperation was a detour. IDUN only became aware of QUO as a possible development partner through discussions at the Swiss Startup Pitch Working Week.
As a first step, the packaging requirements were defined and possible packaging variants were developed and investigated in a Design Thinking Workshop. In QUO’s own workshop, these were then created as prototypes. In the further course of the project, IDUN independently develops the production-ready packaging. The company can draw on the workshop resources as well as the know-how of QUO.
This advantage is also what distinguishes the Netzwerk-Haus in Opfikon: It is expressly desired that the companies located in Opfikon are connected to each other in such a way that they benefit from each other’s expertise and thus increase the added value for the individual company.
