WELCOME, NAOMI!

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]QUO is always happy to welcome young talents. Naomi Strauss will be supporting us as part of an internship. We are happy to give her the floor for a personal introduction!

NAOMI STRAUSS

At home I’m in balance. Aesthetics and design are important parts of my life. Technology gives me ground and security. Only when I can live out both of these approaches, technology becomes creative and design becomes concrete for me.

Striving for this balance led to a bouncing back and forth between the disciplines. In grammar school I chose the focus on design, as a student I chose mechanical engineering to become a kind of

Gyra Gearloose. I was enthusiastic about the content of my studies at the ETH, but there was not enough room for a critical or creative encounter with the knowledge I had developed. Therefore, I studied part-time in order to carry out projects on the side, which allowed me to give my technical understanding a form. So I started to build light installations for events, organized workshops where you can program a robot or solder your own bicycle light. As part of a collaboration between the ZHdK and the ETH Zurich I had the opportunity to develop a concept for a medical device in a joint project between design and engineering. We were fascinated by the challenges of the interface design, engineering and usability and were intensively engaged in creative and efficient collaboration and product development methods. In this transdisciplinary workflow I flourished, more ideas shot through my head and I had more energy to implement them. So the desire grew to work in an interdisciplinary, dynamic team on a project-oriented basis. This is exactly what I entered into Google. And then there was Quo.

I am looking forward to experience further product development processes at Quo, to learn how creative ideas can land safely and to be part of this lateral thinking and innovative team.

We wish Naomi a great start with QUO and look forward to working with her in the future![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
